Work you'll do
- Work with lawyers, accountants and other professionals through rotations into different legal areas/functions, including Claims/Litigation, Corporate, Regulatory, Technology and Shared Services, and/or Employment
- Exposure to various cutting-edge legal, business and compliance issues which in-house lawyers regularly confront in their practice, and which Deloitte Global lawyers and other professionals address domestically and abroad on a daily basis
- Participation in the problem-solving and strategy process by shadowing attorneys during rotations
- Mentorship and guidance from OGC attorneys, accountants, and other professionals
- Opportunities to expand your professional network through various social and professional events
The team
Deloitte Global Office of the General Counsel (OGC) is part of the Integrity Pillar which also includes, Global Risk, and Global Ethics. Led by the Global General Counsel, OGC consists of approximately 50 professionals, including lawyers, accountants and paralegals, resident in the US and abroad. Deloitte Global OGC has four main groups: Claims/Litigation (which includes Employment); Corporate; Technology and Shared Services; and Regulatory, each of which is led by one or more Deputy General Counsels. Interns will rotate among the 4 groups, spending two weeks in each.
Qualifications
• First-year law student (1L) in good academic standing
• Intellectually curious, self-motivated, and collaborative
• Interest in exploring in-house legal department and working on corporate, litigation, regulatory, and/or employment matters as applied globally
• Eager to learn about Deloitte Global and legal, business, and compliance issues facing professional services firm
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills
• Commitment to working with and learning from individuals of different backgrounds and cultures
• Demonstrated Leadership
