Work you'll do
Examples of impactful work include:
- Identify and conduct analyses on trending legislative, regulatory, and public policy issues in key markets (including US, UK/Europe, and key Asian markets) that may impact Deloitte and its clients– with an emphasis on financial regulatory issues
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the Deloitte network to drive alignment on public policy positioning as well as the promotion and protection of Deloitte’s business interests
- Support Deloitte Global’s participation in international organizations such as the B7/B20, OECD, and APEC
- Engaging with senior Deloitte leaders to shape and prioritize their strategy, innovation, and public policy goals to grow and differentiate our business
- Bringing a strategic mindset and structured approach to problem solving, motivated by intellectual curiosity
- Leveraging a deep understanding of public policy issues impacting professional services and the broader business environment as well as subject matter expertise in cross-border financial regulatory issues
- Communicating your ideas and trends with poise to stakeholders through effective written and oral communication
- Managing projects and prioritizing workstreams for staff members with a commitment to quality under tight deadlines and senior stakeholders (e.g., Global C-suite)
- Investing in the professional development of yourself and your team members
The team
Qualifications
- Experience working in US government agencies (eg Treasury, Commerce, FRB, SEC), Congress, trade associations, government affairs organizations, policy research organizations, or public policy organizations, with preference for experience working on financial regulatory issues (audit, tax, trade) including with international bodies/regulatory dialogues (eg Financial Stability Board, US-EU Financial Regulatory Forum, G7/G20)
- Experience in a role with extensive writing, research, and legislative analysis responsibilities
- Academic or practical experience with trade, international relations, geopolitical issues and/or regional studies
- Bachelor's degree required; Graduate degree preferred
- Expertise in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of industry and market business issues and core technology trends
- Foreign language capability and experience abroad preferred
- Solving complex challenges in a self-directed manner using structured thinking
- Developing frameworks to bring clarity to ambiguous problems
- Creating narratives to guide stakeholder thinking and maximize impact
- Communicating ideas and concepts in a clear, logical way to firm executives
- Cultivating trust among a variety of internal and external stakeholders, effectively managing expectations, and exercising influence to drive change
