Work you'll do

This position will be working in a team that is responsible for engineering end user computing solutions from concept to implementation. This role includes defining, building, and operating solutions for our end user compute function. Designed hardware and software solutions will meet stated requirements and needs, and will focus on the following areas: (1) design management systems that deploy software and patches/updates, deploy imaging systems, manage configurations and policies for desktops/laptops/VMs, deliver security policies, perform data backups, gather data and inventory of assets, and monitor end user experience; (2) create applications/packages/scripts that deliver software or settings for end users and technical staff; and (3) set hardware standards for laptops, desktops and peripherals. This role provides third level support for hardware, software and systems environments and collaborates with other functional teams.

  • Architect, design, implement, test and deploy desktop solutions
  • Prepare test plans and environments to test identified software and hardware for potential use within Deloitte environment, including the use of benchmarking applications and platforms.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying integrity and availability of hardware and network configuration, systems and key processes; complete performance testing and verify completion of scheduled changes.
  • Complete research using vendors, interviews and written materials for new and emerging technologies for input into recommendations around potential use within Deloitte. Research and analysis is also performed in seeking possible solutions for identified issues and problems in major platform changes and functional software deployments.
  • Work with other team members to develop and test firm images that are used on the majority of our 100,000+ machines.
  • Collaborate with network, security and other teams that interface with the end user technology team. Work with Call Center and regions/offices to provide third level support on our hardware and software environments.
  • Create/test packages and scripts to be distributed through the firm's software distribution systems. May develop applications to support technology processes and systems.
  • Collaborate with vendors and other staff to troubleshoot issues, identify platforms that meet requirements, and ensure regions/offices receive required support and services to provide end users with a stable, consistent platform.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows OS and/or Mac OS, including life cycle management and root cause analysis.
  • Understanding of systems-based management/monitoring/endpoint protection software such as SCCM, McAfee, Cylance, BeyondTrust and Nexthink.
  • Understanding of how Group Policy and Preferences work in OS environments.
  • Knowledge and understanding of virtual environments.
  • Knowledge of Scripting and Packaging Languages (VB, AdminStudio, .NET, PowerShell, JavaScript, Python, SQL).
  • Substantial experience with problem solving in complex system and network infrastructures, with a focus on ensuring a positive end user experience.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based solutions.
  • Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office 365/ProPlus.
  • Strong technical grasp of strategic platforms such as Microsoft, Networks and Security, WAN, LAN.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory/SCCM/Intune.
  • Solid networking knowledge, including LANs, WANs, Routers, VLANs, VPNs, Wi-Fi.
