Work you'll do

As part of the Global Cybersecurity team, this professional will have the following core responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of internally facing senior cybersecurity architects designing and evaluating security related products and services and assisting other teams developing infrastructure and software products for global use and deployment.  Collaborate and develop consensus among a large number of member firm subject matter experts
  • Review cloud technology designs with architects and engineers, focusing on security requirements and design, network architectures, security policies and standards, cybersecurity risk frameworks & data protection, taking local and regional regulatory requirements into account (e.g. residency & privacy)
  • Review of large O365 email systems with hundreds of domains and third-party email filtering products
  • Perform vendor evaluations and proof of concepts for large global initiatives that could impact up to 350,000 employees and contractors.
  • Investigate, design & architect specific cybersecurity controls as they are identified & required
  • Provide insight and requirements obtained from the global account teams into the design and implementation of new Cybersecurity shared services
  • Establish effective working relationships across various Global line of business and member firm security & IT leaders to understand their business requirements to help execute their business strategy
  • Work in partnership with the Systems Security Assessments and Portfolio and Solutions teams whenever necessary to ensure IT solutions being designed in accordance with industry standard and internally defined architectural security standards and policies 
 

 In addition to the above, the following will be required:

  • Strong business acumen and proven leadership skills   
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate and explain complex technical subjects into non-technical business terms      
  • Ability to collaborate and achieve consensus with member firms and other global technology teams
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of Deloitte’s global business processes, core systems, technologies, data, customers, and delivery partners
  • Communicate and oversee technical implementations of security solutions/services required to meet business objectives

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree: degree in computer sciences, engineering, a technology-related field, or equivalent education-related experience preferred
  • Master’s degree preferred: degree in computer sciences, engineering, a technology-related field, or equivalent education-related experience preferred

Work experience

       Minimum of 15 years of combined experience in a security architect or similar role

  Minimum of 10 years as an Infrastructure architect, Infrastructure Security Architect, and/or similar role.  These roles include responsibilities for architecture of hardware, software, networks and facilities and cloud. 

Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of teams and cultures to develop consensus recommendations for product selection.  Strong business acumen skills including strategic thinking, building internal and external relationships, leading teams and influencing people, and understanding financial and business performance.  Experience presenting to business and technical leaders at all levels of the organization.  Strong experience writing presentations and assessments for technical and non-technical audiences.

Extensive experience and expertise in technical security areas such as:

  • Network architecture and routing (e.g., BGP routing, SDN, SASE)
  • Perimeter security (i.e. Web Application Firewalls, Application Security Gateways, Firewalls, Virtual Private Network (VPN), DNS, …)
  • Session Security (i.e. Authentication, Session Tokens, Federation, …)
  • Hybrid cloud (i.e. Amazon Web Service, Azure Cloud, Google Cloud Provider, …) at the PaaS and IaaS abstraction layers
  • IPv6 and dual stack networks
  • M365 SaaS (i.e. Exchange, Sharepoint, One Drive for Business, MS Graph API)

Extensive experience and deep levels of knowledge in areas such as:

  • Infrastructure as Code (IoC) Security
  • Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Security
  • Zero Trust architectures
  • Cloud Native Security
  • Encryption and Key Management for data in-flight and at-rest
  • Experience in Agile Methodology and leading Scrum and IP sessions
  • Experience creating security reference architectures for cloud solutions
  • Experience with the following in a highly complex and global organization:

o   promoting business and/or cybersecurity strategies

o   working with individuals across different time zones and understanding cultural differences

o   awareness of globally developed and deployed cloud-based services with regard to cross region data flows and implications with regard to data residency, privacy and access

 

Certification

Must have at least one security specific certification (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CEH or similar certifications)

Skills/abilities

     Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate information security topics, policies and standards as well as risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences

         Ability to translate technical/security issues to business users in terms they can understand

         Knowledge and lead of discussions on enterprise architecture and security impact

         Knowledge and lead of discussions on solution architecture and security impact

         Knowledge of Agile methodology and leading of Scrum and IP discussions

         Ability to globally travel (no more than 15%)
