The Technical Architecture Lead is responsible for ensuring that IT and cloud architecture designs align with Deloitte Technology business continuity (BC) and disaster recovery (DR) requirements. This role is crucial in ensuring that Deloitte Technology IT and cloud environments are secure, resilient, and capable of withstanding disruptions, supporting continuous business operations.
This role involves assessing resilient architectural frameworks, mitigating risks, and ensuring high availability, failover strategies, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will work closely with IT and solutions, security, risk management stakeholders to develop and implement robust cloud and IT infrastructure strategies that guarantee operational continuity.

Strategic Responsibilities
- Design and develop Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) Strategy
- Translate business continuity requirements into technical solutions that ensure system availability during disruptions.
- Evaluate and recommend cloud-based BC/DR solutions, including multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures.
- Perform impact analysis and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure mitigation strategies are in place.
- Lead the development of IT continuity playbooks, incident response plans, and DR runbooks.
Technical Responsibilities
- Architecture & Design - Define, design, and implement resilient IT and cloud architectures that meet business continuity and disaster recovery objectives.
- Ensure high availability, redundancy, and failover capabilities across cloud and hybrid IT environments.
- Develop and enforce architectural standards and best practices for IT resilience, recovery time objectives (RTO), and recovery point objectives (RPO).
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to integrate fault tolerance and resilience into technology solutions.
- Governance & Compliance - Ensure IT architectures comply with regulatory and industry standards (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST, SOC 2, PCI-DSS).
- Define policies and controls for resilience, backup, and recovery in alignment with IT governance frameworks.
- Participate in audits and assessments, ensuring that resilience measures meet business and regulatory requirements
- Testing & Validation - Participate in regular testing of DR and failover mechanisms to validate architectural resilience.
- Conduct chaos engineering and failure scenario simulations to test cloud resilience.
- Analyze post-incident reports and lead architecture refinements based on findings.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Act as a trusted advisor to IT leadership and business units on resilience best practices.
- Partner with cloud providers, vendors, and third-party service providers to ensure architectural robustness.
- Influence a team of architects and engineers in driving resilience initiatives across the enterprise.
Technical Skills
- Over 10 years of experience in technology in a large scale complex global organization
- Experience operating a global Technology Operations center.
- Solid application, infrastructure, and cyber security technology skills
- Solid Understanding of cloud hosting platforms, network infrastructure and application hosting
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
- Proficiency in systems administration, including Windows and Linux servers, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
- Understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CISSP, ITIL, or PMP are highly desirable

- 10+ years of experience in IT architecture, cloud computing, and disaster recovery planning.
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their resilience capabilities (e.g., multi-region deployments, auto-scaling, DRaaS).
- Deep understanding of IT risk management, backup strategies, and high-availability patterns.
- Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman) and resilience methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of networking, security, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for cloud resilience.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
