Work you'll do
- This includes working with key leaders in the Deloitte Global Office of the General Counsel, Global Risk, Global Regulatory and other strategic/impacted areas on media relations strategy for crisis and reputation events, the development of internal communications (i.e. talking points and other alerts) for Deloitte professionals, as well as the development of external communications such as media statements, client communications and regulator talking points for stakeholders requiring communication during a crisis.
- You will also serve as a spokesperson with the press on an as-needed basis during crisis events and provide support to Deloitte Member Firm communications professionals in managing brand and reputation events around the network.
- Additionally, you will be responsible for the continued evolution of Deloitte Global’s crisis communications program, leveraging learnings and best practices coming out of crisis situations to inform management approach for future matters.
- Play a central role in developing strategic relationships with journalists and media outlets and in securing earned media opportunities for Deloitte senior leaders that amplify Deloitte’s point of view on topics important to our businesses and clients.
- You will be responsible for preparing media materials for internal and external use and supporting Deloitte leaders’ media interviews in global media markets.

- Provide communications support to the crisis management work stream during brand and reputation events, collaborating with leaders in Deloitte Global OGC, Global Risk, Global Regulatory and other key stakeholder groups.
- Draft communications packages for crisis, risk, regulatory and reputation events, including internal communications (risk alerts for leaders and professionals, talking points, Q&A documents) and external communications (media statements, client communications and regulator talking points), that are regularly used during crisis event.
- Develop media strategy for crisis and potential crisis events.
- Develop and deliver media responses/statements during crisis events on an as-needed basis.
- Provide communications support and strategic counsel to Member Firms during crisis events.
- Support Member Firms in reputation rebuild efforts post-crisis.
- Work with key business leaders, stakeholders and member firm communications professionals to support the implementation of global public relations strategies which enhance Deloitte’s corporate reputation and differentiate Deloitte from its competitors.
- Ensure global business priorities are carried forward with a clear and consistent voice through media activities and platforms that build undisputed leadership in the minds of clients, talent, and external stakeholders.
- Build lasting and effective relationships with journalists and media outlets to promote Deloitte through media interviews and coverage of key Deloitte initiatives.
- Develop external eminence such as blogs and op-eds for publication with media outlets and proactively pitch to journalists Deloitte spokespeople to serve as subject matter experts.
- Uncover media opportunities that amplify Deloitte’s point of view on key topics important to our clients and business.
- Experience developing and enhancing relationships with journalists and media personalities. This includes managing media inquiries during crisis events and the art of pitching journalists on proactive news as appropriate
- Experience in managing communications and developing media strategy during crisis events.
- Experience working with senior leadership during crisis events.
- Ability to operate in high pressure, fast-moving and intense crisis situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop communications materials that influence and persuade.
- Experience developing and executing communications strategies that include traditional earned and paid media, social media, blogs, and other communications vehicles.
- Knowledge of web and social media platforms/tools to achieve marketing/communications objectives, as well as understanding of how to respond on social media platforms during crisis events.
- Ability to define appropriate communications performance indicators, report on success measures and evaluate metrics to enhance/improve communications activities and strategies.
- Proficiency in MS applications, particularly PowerPoint.
- Bachelor’s Degree;
- Minimum ten years’ experience in organizational communications and/or corporate affairs experience; media outlet or PR agency experience is desirable
